Healing and balancing the body's natural flow of energy helps to create a deeper sense of openness, expands one's consciousness, as well as helps release long held stresses and pains. Reiki therapy among the most known. Do you Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.

Reiki, pronounced ‘ray-key’, is a natural form of healing therapy. It is applied through non-invasive gentle touch. This form of therapy aims to increase energy levels, balance the energy system, and promote relaxation and wellbeing.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”

The underlying philosophy of reiki is that if a person’s ‘life force energy’ is low, they are more likely to be unwell or stressed. If it is high, however, they are more capable of being happy and feeling well. Reiki will not directly cure illnesses or disease, but it may help your body to heal itself, and is a great preventative tool.

A lot of research has been done on Reiki and its effects over the past decade or so. As a result Reiki is commonly used in many hospitals by holistic nurses, and has been a successful complementary therapy used in pre and post operational setting. Reiki can do no harm, and it is also a great tool for strees reduction, and emotional balancing. It can be used by itself or as a complementary therapy.

Reiki is not a religion, it has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from Source, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion (spirituality) rather than having only an intellectual concept of it. One can receive a Reiki session from a cerified practitioner, or learn Reiki for self-treatments on yourself and others.
